Colorful everyday summer look

Hello makeup-lovers and fellow spooks! :)

Summer is a time of color and a color that I like very much but seldom use is orange. Orange usually makes me think of fall and Halloween, but it is also suitable for summer. I made this look over a week ago but I haven't had time to post it before now.

I've got loads of Makeup Geek eyeshadows that I intend to review some time, but since it (for some reason) is taking me such a long time to do so I will present the shadows in different looks instead.

The shadow I've used today is Mandarine which is a vibrant orange with specks of gold. It has great color payoff and it didn't crease on me even though I used it with concealer as my only primer. On the swatch picture, the eyeshadow is applied on bare skin.

A similar eyeshadow is Flamepoint by Sugarpill, but I think this
is a little better since Flamepoint is more of a reddish orange, while Mandarine is a more... well, orangey orange I guess. ;)

So let's move on to the look:

When adding a colorful eyeshadow to the outer corner of the eye, rather than on the whole lid, and blending it well it can be used to get a more subtle and wearable look.

Black lipstick of course, no surprise I guess. ;)

Midsummer nightmare

Hello makeup-lovers and fellow spooks! :)

The look of today is inspired by a dark forest in summer. You know, that kind of forest where the sunlight leaks through the leaves but don't really reach into the darkest parts. I love those kinds of forests, they're so peaceful and mysterious.

I hope you're all having a great Midsummer! :) Midsummer celebrations are quite a big deal here in Sweden. Personally I'm longing for Halloween. ;)

My septum piercing is much straighter now! :3 Thank you Kierra Thorn for the great tip!

I like this look way better with the white zombie-eyes, than with my own blue eye-color. :)

Harley Quinn photoshoot!

Hello makeup-lovers and fellow spooks! :)

Yesterday I did the makeup for a Harley Quinn-inspired photoshoot. It was awesome and the pictures
turned out fantastic and with all the craziness that Harley represents.

Photographer: Belinda Bärtzner
Model/styling: Emily Macgregor
Makeup-artist: Madam Noire

This gorgeous black and red corset is from Tokill4.

Well, what can I say? Great photographer, great model, great theme and great everything. :3

Gothic pinup

Hello makeup-lovers and fellow spooks! :)

The look of today is actually a look that I made one week ago, (the day before I pierced my nose, that's why I don't have the piercing on these pictures), I just haven't felt like editing the pictures and writing this post yet.

This is my typical everyday look, that I wear whenever I want to feel beautiful but without too much makeup. I love to combine the simple eyemakeup with black lips for a more gothic look, since that is more my style.

For the eyes I've used the fabulous eyeshadow Moondust by Makeup Geek. The name is very appropriate since the shimmery texture and shining brownish color reminds of the moon's surface.

This kind of eyemakeup is usually combined with a red lip, but I decided to do a black one since I'm in love with black lipstick.

I think this is a typical look that turns out pretty boring on closeup pictures. You have to see the whole face to appreciate it, not only the eye-makeup. Most natural makeup-looks work that way.

Afternoon tea

Hello makeup-lovers and fellow spooks! :)

It's been quiet here for a while now, mainly because I have been sad and a bit traumatized from a thing that happened last Sunday morning. When walking our dog me and Mr. Noire found a dead guy on the street, right outside our house. We immediately called the ambulance and started doing compressions but it was too late. I don't blame myself or anything, I'm just sad that he didn't make it. And shocked of course, since this kind of thing reminds one about how vulnerable life is.
So this is why I haven't answered too many of your nice comments lately. I apologize for that!

But now, let's move on to happier subjects. I've made a look for you, or two looks actually but I will post the other one another day.

This makeup look is a bridal look that is inspired by a look that Ronnie from bowsandcurtseys.com did a while ago. Go check her blog out if you haven't already, she's amazing! :)

Tomorrow I'm going to my friends's wedding and afterwards we're having afternoon tea at a fancy restaurant. That's why I decided to call this look Afternoon tea, I guess.

Yep, I've poked a third hole in my nose. :) I must admit it wasn't the smartest thing to do so at summer when my allergies are the worst, but I guess I'll survive. And I love my new piercing although it's a little skew.

I think this is a perfect wedding look if you want your makeup to be natural and dramatic in the same time. To tone it down all you have to do is use a softer color on your eyebrows and a nude/light pink lipgloss on your lips.

At the moment, I'm quite obsessed about painting my eyes brown in Photoshop. Brown eyes are just adorable!
